“The Office” star John Krasinski isn’t sitting around and waiting for the movie roles to come to him – he’s already making his own movies. The actor has started production on BRIEF INTERVIEWS WITH HIDEOUS MEN an indie drama based on the novel by David Foster Wallace. The movie stars Julianne Nicholson (“Law and Order: Criminal Intent”) as a grad student scarred after a rough breakup. She decides to videotape interviews with various guys trying to make sense of men. A diverse group of guys are co-starring from the film and include everyone from Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard to Timothy Hutton (Josh Charles, Will Forte, Lou Taylor Pucci and Christopher Meloni also star). While I’d rather see Krasinski directing the Jim and Pam sex tape, you gotta admire an actor’s gumption to get up and do his own thing so early in his career. Krasinski also recently signed on to star alongside George Clooney and Renee Zellweger in LEATHERHEADS. He can be seen next in DREAMGIRLS and next summer in LICENSE TO WED with Mandy Moore.
