The FRIDAY THE 13TH franchise has really been put through the wood chipper lately. The new movie is roasting on a spit in Development Hell with no means to hit its January 13, 2017 date, and the CW canceled their promised series adaptation of Jason Voorhees' adventures. …Or have they?
According to Fridaythe13thFranchise.com, a source has stated that:
The show has been shelved with a revisit planned for some time close to April 2017. At that point it will be determined by CW if they can find a story to warrant a series order. If they opt to not go with Friday The 13th at all then the show is open for a different avenue of release. Netflix has long been requested by fans as a destination that would hopefully limit the amount of studio interference.

Considering that they were batting around the idea of a prequel (probably because Bates Motel has been doing so well), this is definitely not a bad thing. If they go through with it, then we'll get a new, improved storyline. If not, we're spared the CW's inevitable disappointing of hardcore fans. Just somebody give us something! That's all I ask! Please!
