It’s an old story, but a reliable one: Two people fall in love, one of them dies before their time, comes back as a member of the undead intent on continuing the romance. Last summer gave us Joe Dante’s somewhat disappointing BURYING THE EX and the year before that we got the moderately better LIFE AFTER BETH. Now it’s CLINGER‘s turn to show us the pros and cons of being a lovesick ghoul.

CLINGER tells the following tale:

Fern Petersen, a driven high school senior, has her life turned upside down when her overly affectionate boyfriend, Robert Klingher (Vincent Martella – The Walking Dead, Phineas & Herb), dies in an embarrassing accident. When Robert returns from the dead as a love-sick ghost, he tries to reunite with Fern – only to have his heart broken. As Robert plots to kill Fern so they can be together forever, Fern will have to fight to stay in the world of the living. Clinger is a blood-soaked coming-of-age story about the horrors of first love.

CLINGER was actually released very quietly in the states last year after a world premiere at the Slamdance Film Festival (it’s streaming on Amazon HERE); now it’s headed to home video in the UK on February 1st. You can take a peek at the fresh UK trailer below.
