2015 has been a busy year for writer/director Ben Samuels. In addition to getting two horror films out into the world – KANTEMIR, which stars Robert Englund, and WATCH ME – he has also teamed with his brother Oliver Samuels to make a third horror offering, a zombie movie called 6:15, starring Montana Marks, Amy Rutledge, Matt Riker, Rosebud Baker, and Bradford How.
Zombies are all over the place these days, so what makes 6:15 stand apart from the pack? Here's how the Samuels brothers describe it:

With tonal homages to Romero, the audience *is* the protagonist, living the action and emotion of a viral outbreak on an isolated Pennsylvania farm. 6:15 is a true horror indie, made outside the studio system on location in Romero's Pennsylvania.

George A. Romero is one of my heroes, and I am a passionate fan of his DEAD movies. Especially, of course, of the initial trilogy. NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD '68 may be the movie I have watched the most times in my life. In a time when it would be obvious to reference THE WALKING DEAD when talking about your zombie movie, I'm glad to see that the Samuels are keeping the Romero influence at the forefront. "Romero's Pennsylvania" is an amazing place, and I hope 6:15 will be giving me another awesome, Pennsylvania-made zombie movie to watch regularly.
