Trailer for Shark Lake, starring Dolph Lundgren, swims online

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Some of his co-stars in the EXPENDABLES movies may get more attention than him, but I have a special place in my movie-loving heart for Dolph Lundgren, a man who played some of the greatest heroes and villains of my childhood. He was the live action representation of one of my favorite cartoon heroes, He-Man. He played one of my favorite comic book characters in THE PUNISHER. He teamed up with Brandon Lee for SHOWDOWN IN LITTLE TOKYO, fought a drug-dealing alien in I COME IN PEACE, tried to break Rocky, and went crazy on Van Damme in UNIVERSAL SOLDIER. All of those Lundgren outings got multiple viewings in my household.

Now Lundgren is set to face off with what may be his greatest opponent yet in director Jerry Dugan's "nature run amok" movie SHARK LAKE.

The synopsis goes like this:

Meredith Hendricks happens to be the best cop in her quiet town on Lake Tahoe. When a black market exotic species dealer named Clint is paroled from prison, something he let loose begins to make its presence known. Swimmers and land-lovers alike begin to become part of the food chain at an unbelievable rate. Meredith and her team discover that they’re not just hunting one eating machine, but a whole family of them. Not everyone will make it out alive, but those who do will never forget this summer at Shark Lake.

A release date for SHARK LAKE hasn't been set yet, but distributor Screen Media Films has made a trailer available, and it's embedded below.

The promo runs a bit too long and makes the film seem rather underwhelming to me, but if a movie is made about killer sharks, odds are that I'm going to watch it. Cast Dolph Lundgren as the shark hunting hero and there's no way I'm going to miss it.
