The inevitable has been made official. Syfy will be bringing back Ian Ziering and Tara Reid for SHARKNADO 3, reports Deadline. Also returning are director Anthony C. Ferrante and screenwriter Thunder Levin. And The Asylum, of course.

The shark-flinging shenanigans in SHARKNADO 3 will kick off in Washington D.C., then move on down the eastern seaboard:

When a mass of sharknadoes threatens Florida, chainsaw-wielding hero Fin must again risk his life to save his children on spring break. But as he fights his way south, the sharknadoes merge and grow bigger than ever before.

SHARKANDO 2: THE SECOND ONE premiered at the end of July last year and turned out to be Syfy’s highest rated original movie ever. A third one was announced before the second even aired, and Syfy president Dave Howe claimed SHARKNADO will be an annual event, so we’re looking at years and years of this shit.

Expect SHARKNADO 3 to touchdown this July.
