Seth Gilliam, who appeared on the classic HBO series "The Wire" as Det. Ellis Carver and has been most recently seen on MTV's "Teen Wolf" as Dr. Deaton, has just been cast as a season regular for the upcoming fifth season of the hit AMC series "The Walking Dead", reports Deadline.

Gilliam will play a character listed on the breakdown as Michael Todd, though his real name is being kept under wraps. Michael is described as 'having two sides, displaying a friendly, puckish humor but also having a haunted side stemming from a dark secret'.

Gilliam is expected to continue his recurring role on "Teen Wolf" while filming "The Walking Dead".

Gilliam will make a welcome addition to the already stellar cast of "The Walking Dead". I was a big fan of his work on "The Wire" so hopefully we can expect to see some equally as commanding performances from him in the upcoming season. We're already looking forward to "The Walking Dead's" fifth season and will keep you posted on news regarding the series as we hear it!
