Continental Media shopped at least two genre projects at this year’s AFM, we have the sales posters and synopses to give you in absence of pickup news. Mickey Keating’s RITUAL we’ve addressed several times, but Tom Sizemore as himself in the horror comedy AUTEUR? Whoa now…

RITUAL, starring Leigh Whannell (SAW, INSIDIOUS), has been updated by Content Media via the new poster and synopsis below. No release dates are yet known, but at least the flick got some exposure at the market this week.

Tom Moses steps into a nightmare when he discovers that his estranged wife, Lovely, has brutally killed a man in one of the cramped, decaying rooms of a sleazy South Texas motel. Against his better judgment, Tom agrees to help and it is not long before he finds a video camera in the trunk of the dead man’s car. He and Lovely watch as a horrifying image crackles to life: a group of individuals, shrouded in robes and disguised in skull masks, ritualistically sacrifice a helpless girl. The situation becomes clear and Tom and Lovely realize that they need to get out while they still can. But the night has only just begun and the strangers in skull masks soon arrive with a plan of their own…

RITUAL also stars Derek Phillips, Lisa Summerscales, Brian Lally, Eric Martig, Stephen Brophy, John Hugo and Dean Cates.

Alright, on to AUTEUR. This silly sucker’s written and directed by George Cameron Romero, and also stars B.J. Hendricks, Ian Hutton, Eli Jane, Elina Loukas, Madeline Merritt and Matt Mercer.

Written by James Cullen Bressack, JD Fairman and Michael Sean Gomez – AUTEUR picks up when:

On the brink of reaching the pinnacle of his film career with his latest theatrical masterpiece, an acclaimed movie director suddenly disappears, taking all of the footage and leaving virtually no trace of his existence. Soon to follow are the sudden deaths of his film crew and pieces of evidence that all point to one incident on set. Intrigued by the strange coincidences, a documentarian decides to investigate the circumstances that surround the director. What he unearths however is far more sinister than he could be ready for.
