Underground mutants and subrosa Nazis? Holy hell!

MGM has just acquired rights to Russian sci-fi horror novel METRO 2033, which was written by Dmitri Glukhovsky in 2002. The book first appeared online in 2002 before being published in Russia in 2005, and has since been translated in 35 languages globally. F. Scott Frazier is being tasked with adapting the script.

The story is set in 2033, after a nuclear holocaust devastates Moscow and survivors head underground. The focus is on a young survivor who is forced to go on a journey that will see him deal with mutants, soldiers of a Fourth Reich and political factions of various metro stations in order to reach above ground.

So, CHUD meets DEAD SNOW? That’d be pretty damn fun! Mark Johnson of Gran Via Productions (NARNIA) is producing along with Eugene Efuni and Marina Hall.
