As we all wait with bated breath to see what Sly and the boys have up their sleeves with EX2, let’s not sleep on the other Sly/Arnie vehicle, THE TOMB. Remember, the flick was supposed to be a starring one for Arnie, before he opted to do LAST STAND instead. Then Sly took the lead, yet somehow worked out a deal where Arnie could come in and play a smaller part in the picture. Well folks, whatever the size of their parts, it looks like they may have to deal with one nasty British bloke…

According to Yahoo! UK, British tough man Vinnie Jones is lobbying to join Sly and Arnie in THE TOMB. No deal has been made, but here’s what Jones had to say about the project:

“I might have a film coming up with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sly Stallone. Those boys are knocking on a bit (getting older). At least I’ll be prepared if the action scenes get a bit too heavy for them.”

So take that for what it’s worth. Dude’s already taking shots at the age of the action legends, that may not pay off so well for him in the end. Or maybe that prompts Sly to get Jones hired and he and Arnold kick the shite out of him on set to teach him a lesson. I could go for that!

THE TOMB follows Ray Breslin (Stallone) who is the world’s foremost authority on structural security. He’s analyzed every high security prison and has gained a vast array of survival skills. But all Ray’s ingenuity and knowledge are about to be put to work in the most challenging test he’s ever faced: escaping from the master prison of his own design.

Jim Caviezel also stars, Mikael Hafstrom directs.
