The Holiday Season is in full swing folks, the big end of year releases are coming at us. We had some come out last week, and there are more on the way this week. Unfortunately for our genre we didn’t have much this week, but tomorrow we’ve got the highly anticipated THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO getting a release.

What made the bucks this weekend? The return of Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and Guy Ritchie with SHERLOCK HOLMES: A BOOK OF SHADOWS. It topped the Box Office and pretty much sliced the competition. Coming in second was the family film ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: CHIPWRECKED and then in 3rd with a limited release on IMAX screens MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL.

Everything else took a dive and not much money was made, a little disappointing, but it seemed as though everyone went to the bigger releases. We shall see what the numbers say next weekend, as it is Christmas weekend!
