Last month TEXAS KILLING FIELDS got a limited theatrical release, and Eric had the chance to see the film and didn’t think too highly of it. Well the film is preparing to get released in other places, including my home of Australia.
A brand new Australian poster has been released, it is a little lacking and the photoshop job is not very impressive. I can’t seem to find a release date for the film, but I can’t imagine we’d have to wait too long considering it stars one of our homegrown boys.
In other news the DVD and Blu-ray release date has been announced, and it will be available as of January 31st in the US. So if you were curious to see this one, mark down that date. Currently there is no cover art, hopefully it is better than the Aussie poster. Personally I am curious to see it based on the cast alone, and I tend to like these types of films.
Inspired by true events, this tense and haunting thriller follows a local homicide detective in a small Texan town and his partner, a transplanted cop from New York City as they track a sadistic serial killer dumping his victims’ mutilated bodies in a nearby marsh locals call “The Killing Fields”.
The killer changes the game and begins hunting the detectives, teasing them with possible clues at the crime scenes while always remaining one step ahead. When a familiar local girl, Anne goes missing the detectives find themselves in a race against time to find the killer and save her life.
Sam Worthington, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chloe Moretz, Jessica Chastain (below), Stephen Graham and Jason Clark all star in the film.
