With Season 6 of DEXTER premiering Sunday night with its strongest opening yet comes word that there is a huge possibility this could be its last.
Say it isn’t so?
Unfortunately star Michael C. Hall’s contract expires after this Season and negotiations for an additional two seasons have come to a stall, as both sides cannot agree on a salary.
Apparently Hall and his team want $24 million for the next two seasons, with Showtime offering $20 million. In either case that would make Hall one of cable TV’s highest paid actors. Seriously, I wouldn’t mind dealing with those problems!
Showtime are putting on a brave front saying they are confident a deal will be reached. I think best-case scenario might be one more season instead of two. Hall is keen to put TV behind him soon, after such a long stretch between SIX FEET UNDER and DEXTER. He plans to look into Broadway and film for the future.
We’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this as it progresses.
