IFC Midnight, distributors in underground horror, sealed the deal on the upcoming Argentine thriller PENUMBRA in the hours leading up to the films Fantastic Fest Premiere, based on the auteur brothers previous films. Under this deal, PENUMBRA will see a release in North America, Malaysia and Singapore.

Writers/Directors Adrian and Ramiro Garcia Bogliano continue their run of horror and thriller films set around a limited location. Set in their trademark decrepit apartment building, PENUMBRA begins with a suspicious man looking to rent an apartment that leads to a series of events surrounding a solar eclipse.

Described as a high tension slow burn thriller, Sundance Selects/IFC Midnight president Jonathon Sehring is excited to be working with the brothers. “We’ve been big fans of Adrian and Romero Garcia Bogliano since we saw Cold Sweat. We’re thrilled to be in business with them on Penumbra, which shows them only growing stronger as filmmakers. Cristina Bondo gives an amazing performance as the Boglianos slowly and expertly turn up the dread and tension in this thrilling film.”

The film stars Cristina Brondo (below), Camila Bordonaba, Berta Muñiz, Arnaldo André, Mirella Pascual, Victoria Witemburg and Diego Cremonesi.
