Back in May, we told that you Fox passed on the pilot for LOCKE & KEY, a would be series adaptation of Joe Hill’s horror comic. The pilot actually had a screening at Comic Con, with Hill, illustrator Gabriel Rodriguez, pilot’s writer Josh Friedman and executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci in attendance. It was well received, but it was made clear by Friedman the show is never going to happen.
In somewhat bittersweet news on the project, the trailer has been made available online. Friedman took to Twitter and posted the link to the video (below) as well as a small statement: “This leaked L/K trailer was made by Fox for advertisers months ago (obviously before they decided not to pick us up). Nobody should make anything of its presence on the net. I don’t know who put it out there. But it is something Fox had shown me long ago.”
You now have the opportunity to see what could have been, and like myself wonder what in the heck Fox were thinking.
