One of my most anticipated films for the year has been Nicolas Winding Refn’s DRIVE. It will be hitting US screens in a wider release on September 16th, it has been doing the festival circuit, having made its premiere at Cannes.

The film has just scored itself a new green band trailer, and I have it right here for you. I’ve also included the red band trailer just in case you are feeling a little more adventurous. If you are in the New York area, some screenings have been announced, also below.

Friday, August 12th at 4:00pm – Park Avenue Screening Room (500 Park Ave.)

Thursday, August 18th at 6:00pm – Park Avenue Screening Room

Tuesday, August 23rd at 12:30pm – Park Avenue Screening Room

Monday, August 29th at 5:30pm – Park Avenue Screening Room

Tuesday, September 13th at 10:00am – Park Avenue Screening Room

Here is the full synopsis:

Breakout Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn throttles into the Hollywood fast lane with the precision-crafted action caper DRIVE.

Ryan Gosling stars as a Los Angeles wheelman for hire, stunt driving for movie productions by day and steering getaway vehicles for armed heists by night. Though a loner by nature, Driver can’t help falling in love with his beautiful neighbor Irene, a vulnerable young mother dragged into a dangerous underworld by the return of her ex-convict husband Standard.

After a heist intended to pay off Standard’s protection money spins unpredictably out of control, Driver finds himself driving defense for the girl he loves, tailgated by a syndicate of deadly serious criminals. But when he realizes that the gangsters are after more than the bag of cash in his trunk-that they’re coming straight for Irene and her son-Driver is forced to shift gears and go on offense.

The film sports an all-star cast with Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, Christina Hendricks (below), Ron Perlman, Oscar Isaac and Albert Brooks.
