What’s a good way of skirting domestic tumult? Flee the f*ckin’ country!

After a six-month stretch he’d no doubt like to forget, Arnold Schwarzenegger is making good on his promise to return to the ring of acting. Nope, it’s not THE GOVERNATOR. It’s not THE TERMINATOR. Hell, it isn’t even that weird western he was attached to, CRY MACHO. Nope, the Schwarz is set to take THE LAST STAND for Korean director Kim ji-Woon.

Word comes from Deadline, who cites a September start date for the latest from the I SAW THE DEVIL director. Just for a refresher, here’s what THE LAST STAND is all about:

The story will follow the exploits of a drug cartel leader who blasts his way out of a courtroom, steals a car, and heads towards the Mexican border. Arnold Schwarzenegger will play a sheriff with an inexperienced staff who becomes involved with trying to stop the cartel leader from entering Mexico after the two parties inadvertently cross paths. THE LAST STAND will mark ji-Woon’s first English language film.

As you can see, Arnie better brush up on his Spanish. Vuelvo baby, Vuelvo!

So what do you think. Is THE LAST STAND a wise vehicle for Arnie? I personally love it. Not only is it a change of pace for him, I SAW THE DEVIL has been one of the best reviewed films of the year. I’m actually quite pumped for a ji-Woon-Arnie pairing!
