I wonder what writer Chris Sparling and director Rodrigo Cortes will think about this. Or better yet, their lawyers…

Turns out a new horror/thriller called COFFIN, very much in the vein of BURIED (made by the dudes listed above), has been completed. It stars Kevin Sorbo, Bruce Davison, Johnny Alonso, Patrick Barnitt, Sunny Doench, Moksha McPherrin, Candace Kita (below), Andrena Senola, Johnson Barnett and Luke Barnett. Ready for the familiar synopsis?

Written by Kipp Tribble, who co-directed with Derik Wingo (both star as well), COFFIN picks up when:

A masked stranger reveals to Jack that his estranged wife and her lover are buried underground in a wooden box and their oxygen will run out in 75 minutes. He must engage in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with the masked stranger in order to save his wife…and himself.

Okay, so I doubt the entirety of the film will take place in the coffin like BURIED, but the whole real-time element and ticking-clock scenario is quite the same. Still sounds fun though, ay? Nothing like a Sorbo genre piece to pass the time.

No release info for COFFIN has yet been given. Keep it near for further updates.
