If my name were Hunter Parrish I’d be blazing all the weed I can find as well…

All japing aside, E! Online is reporting “Weeds” actor Hunter Parrish (dude on the right) has emerged as the frontrunner to play the male lead in Gary Ross’ HUNGER GAMES. As we told you last week, Alex Pettyfer and Josh Hutcherson are also in the running. Dare I ask if you gotta favorite of the three?!?

Here’s what Parrish had to say about potentially being cast as Peeta Mellark:

“I’ve met the producers. I’d be grateful to get the opportunity. Like, really grateful. It would be amazing.”

He continued with:

“You don’t get much better than that. The true fans of the book. So regardless of whether I’m a part of the film or not, I feel honored to just sort of be thought of. I read the books all last year, and I guess they’re starting filming soon.”

As good an opportunity as it’ll be for any dude who lands the male lead, we all know HUNGER GAMES is truly about the female lead, Katniss Everdeen. In case you missed our article from a few hours ago, Jennifer Lawrence (WINTER’S BONE, below) has been awarded to highly coveted role. Wonder if she thinks kindly of this here Parrish fella.
