Chris Pine, Alex Pettyfer & Shia LaBeouf all interested in starring in Preacher?

I hate do be a dick, but does anyone actually like any of these three “actors”?

Chris Pine I’ll cut the most slack, despite starring in PRINCESS DIARIES 2. No, he did pretty good work in CARRIERS, a hardened genre piece the others’ resumes are sadly bereft of.

Personal umbrage aside, it appears Pine, Alex Pettyfer and Shia LaBeouf have all expressed interest in starring in D.J. Caruso’s PREACHER. As you know, LaBeouf has worked with Caruso twice (DISTURBIA, EAGLE EYE), Pettyfer once (I AM NUMBER FOUR). My guess they have first dibs…

Thing is, it may not even be about dibs. Word from Cloneweb (who spoke to Caruso while promoting his new film in France) is each actor is interested in a different part. Namely: Jesse, Arseface (above) and Saint Of Killers – though who’s interested in which role is cloudy at the moment. Makes sense though, since John August has yet to finishing adapting the screenplay from Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s popular comic series.

Preacher follows a distressed man of the cloth named Jesse Custer who goes on a trip to literally find God after he was possessed and killed his entire congregation and destroyed his church. Custer joined in his road trip by old fame Tulip and a hard-drinking Irish vampire named Cassidy.

Alright, so what’s up? You like any of these actors for the roles? More importantly, who of the three should play Arseface?
