Despite not having available plot or casting details available, a new one-sheet for Jaume Balaguero’s [REC]: APOPCALYPSE (or APOPCALYPSIS, as the poster suggests) has been tacked up for our enjoyment. And aside from being cooler than the ones we’ve seen prior, perhaps most telling is the Autumn 2012 tag at the bottom of the poster. That only leaves like 17 months to hype this bastard up…

As you know by now, after the joint effort from Balaguero and Paco Plaza on [REC] and [REC] 2, the plan was to spearhead their own follow up films. Balaguero is making [REC]: APOCALYPSE, while Plaza is helming [REC]: GENESIS. I guess will really see who’s the better filmmaker when it’s all said and done.

Interestingly, Plaza’s GENESIS is supposed to come out sometime this year, as is QUARANTINE 2: TERMINAL – the sequel to the American remake of [REC], which is said to take place in an airport terminal. Of course, trough double entendre, terminal can also refer to the deadly virus each of these flicks revolve around.

If I’ve confused you with that last paragraph, don’t sweat it…just cop a look at the new [REC]: APOCALYPSE poster below!

[REC] star Manuela Velasco!
