Funny, I just watched Adrian Lyne’s UNFAITHFUL two days ago. Good Lord Diane Lane is fine!!!
Well gang, it looks like The Lyne is back!
Variety is reporting that JACOB’S LADDER director, who hasn’t made a film since 2002, is set to helm a murder-mystery called BACK ROADS. Lyne co-wrote the script with Tawni O’Dell, adapting from the latter’s novel of the same name. And get this: Andrew Garfield, Jennifer Garner and Marcia Gay Harden are all in line to star.
Garfield (seen right) will star as a young man who is forced to care for his three younger sisters after their mother is sent to prison for killing her abusive husband.
Garner (below) will play one of the family’s neighbors who becomes romantically involved with the Garfield, while Harden will play his court-appointed therapist.
Word is a number of A-list actresses are being looked at to play the role of Garfield’s sisters. One name we can probably nix immediately? Emma Stone (remember, she’s the new Gwen Stacy to Garfield’s Peter Parker). Outside of her, who do you think should be considered?
Better yet, what do you think of BACK ROADS as a whole? We love us some murder mysteries around here, but the plot description above doesn’t exactly inspire whodunit material. Cause for concern?
