I don’t know what the hell to make of this HANSEL AND GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS flick, although it sure is working itself up quite a cool cast. The film, from DEAD SNOW director Tommy Wirkola (inspired choice right there), is set to star Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton – two of Hollywood’s favorite “it” actors at the moment. Now, according to the Playlist, another hot star has joined the flick: Famke Janssen!
Unfortunately, it’s unclear what character Janssen will be portraying in the film, although since it deals with witches, I’d lay a few bucks on her playing a sinister spell-caster. Guess it remains to be seen – although we’re not sure when we’ll be seeing it, as there’s no release date solidified.
H&G:WH is being produced by Adam McKay and Will Ferrell from a script by D.W. Harper. Paramount Pictures is evidently keen to get moving on the flick soon, with a March 7th start date tentatively planned. If that’s really the case then they’d better get cracking on the rest of the cast; however, so far, so good.
