You all know who Paddy Considine is, right? If not, check him out in Jim Sheridan’s IN AMERICA, then Edgar Wright’s HOTT FUZZ, then Shane Meadows’ DEAD MAN’S SHOES to see how versatile the dude is as an actor. For real!
But that’s not where the versatility ends. Considine (seen rockin’ the mic above) also writes and directs (TYRANNOSAUR), and in a sit-down with Total Film, he revealed he’s set to repeat said duties on a new horror yarn called THE LEANING – a ghost story centered on the idea of legacies, what Considine deems “the thing people hang onto.”
Word is THE LEANING tells the story of young woman haunted by a childhood trauma who in adult life struggles to form meaningful relationships. Citing THE EXORCIST as an influence, here’s what Paddy added:
“Every time she gets close to somebody she feels this presence.”
Hmmm…close as in proximity, or intimacy…what the hell does that mean? Sounds cool enough, guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
From the preliminaries, how do you like the sound of THE LEANING? You a fan of Considine’s work behind the camera? You think he should play a part in his own flick? What you got?
