Just yesterday we heard from Bruce Willis that he’s completely on board for a return to the world of THE EXPENDABLES. Music to our ears. Now, we’ve got another brief update for you – it should just be taken as rumor for now, but it’s one we’ve been hearing for a long time, albeit with a new wrinkle added…
Sylvester Stallone has said in the past that he wants Jean-Claude Van Damme to star in the sequel to last summer’s hit actionfest. Now Van Damme’s pal and collaborator Shelden Lettich (who directed Van Damme in LIONHEART and DOUBLE IMPACT, among other titles) has revealed that Van Damme is quite likely to appear in EXPENDABLES 2; he also brings up the name of another action hero of yore.
“JC seems to be leaning towards appearing in the sequel, as far as I know. If Steven Seagal is not in the sequel, from what I’ve heard it won’t be because of Sly but because of producer Avi Lerner, who had a few bad experiences with Steven.”
At this point, with all the chatter in regards to Jean-Claude and the sequel, I’d be quite surprised if it doesn’t happen. As for Seagal… look, I love the guy, but if I had to chose one be in E2, it would be JCVD all the way… What about you?
