We’ve been keeping a sharp eye on Francis Ford Coppola’s TWIXT NOW AND SUNRISE, his indie gothic horror effort, ever since its announcement. Most recently, I wrote about the movie’s alleged 3D sequence, which, if true, is a most unusual and tantalizing touch. Now more intriguing news is dropping in about this curio.

First, it would appear as though Ben Chaplin (pictured) will be portraying Edgar Allen Poe in the flick. Pretty odd, although we’re not sure what the context is. Maybe he’s a hallucination? Or a ghost? Who knows, but can’t wait to find out.

Secondly, it’s been revealed that Dan Deacon will be providing the movie’s score. Deacon is an electropop artist whose tracks are… well, let’s just say that after listening to a few samples of his work, I can’t really imagine his sound being suited to a Coppola film. That said, it’s anyone’s guess what the director has up his sleeve with this mysterious project…

TWIXT NOW AND SUNRISE, which also stars Val Kilmer, Bruce Dern and Elle Fanning, will open later this year (hopefully).
