Kevin Smith’s Red State starts with a bang. A GANG bang!

I certainly like the teaser for Kevin Smith’s horror effort RED STATE, which we brought you last week. Just a montage of unsettling, violent images, it told us the type of film it is (which we pretty much already knew anyway) while not revealing its actual plot. We’ve known that it deals with religious wackos, but we haven’t really been sure on the finer details. Now, thanks to Sundance’s official site, we’ve got an idea of what kick-starts the madness.

Red State begins by following three horny high-school boys who come across an online ad from an older woman looking for a gang bang. Boys being boys, they hit the road to satisfy their libidinal urges. But what begins as a fantasy takes a dark turn as they come face-to-face with a terrifying “holy” force with a fatal agenda.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that a gang bang is in there, or at least mentioned. That wacky Kevin Smith loves talking about naughty things.

RED STATE will have its Sundance premiere on Sunday, January 23rd. It stars Michael Angarano, Kerry Bishe, Nicholas Braun, Kyle Gallner, John Goodman, Melissa Leo, Michael Parks, Kevin Pollak and Stephen Root.
