Warner Bros. wants “Glee’s” Heather Morris as new Buffy The Vampire Slayer?

Now that everyone’s done venting about Warner Bros. decision to retool BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, who do you best see taking the role made popular by Kristy Swanson (big-screen) and Sarah Michelle Gellar (small-screen)?

One name bandied about by the studio is “Glee’s” Heather Morris (pictured), so says an associate from Dolly Parton’s Sandollar Production Company, previous rights holder to the property. Word is Morris’ name has been mentioned a lot in prior weeks, and that’s she’s now being hotly pursued to play the part.

While the 23 year old Morris plays a high school student in the popular musical TV show, she may not have to stay that young in the movie (as Kristy Swanson did). The new BUFFY update will likely place the titular heroine in the days fresh out of college, where more poignant issues of getting a job and will backdrop the story. The hope is to, since Morris has demonstrated deft comic timing and limber gymnastic skills, keep the Valley-girl tone of the character more in line with the one Swanson portrayed in 1992.

Alrighty, so what do we think? Is Morris the perfect choice or is she already overexposed? Do you think she really has what it takes to inherit the mantle of Swanson and Gellar?
