It seems this is the first time hearing of Jacob Tierney’s serial killer yarn GOOD NEIGHBOURS, which is kind of shocking giving the high profile acting talent attached. The flick stars Jay Baruchel, Scott Speedman and Emily Hampshire (below)…and is newly picked up by Magnolia Films for U.S. distribution.
Premiering last September at TIFF, GOOD NEIGHBOURS is a harsh thriller that takes place in 1995, the year of the second referendum on the separation of Quebec. In the dead of winter, a serial killer is on the loose in the small Montreal neighborhood of Notre Dame de Grace. The tenants of an old apartment house must figure out who they can trust and who they can’t. The film was produced by Myriad Pictures.
About the project, Magnolia Senior V.P. Tom Quinn said:
“Jacob Tierney has crafted a fun, twisted thriller with a great cast that elicits just as many chills as they do laughs.”
Xavier Dolan, Gary Farmer, Pat Kiely, Sean Lu, Kaniehtiio Horn, Nathalie Girard and Ann Marie Cadieux also star in the film.
