Here’s a brief but enticing trailer for an animated flick that’s news to me, BLACK SKY. Called “an illustrated film”, it comes from Ben Templesmith (who did the artwork for Steve Niles’ “30 Days of Night”) and director Matt Pizzolo, who helmed GODKILER.

Though no official synopsis is available yet, it’s obvious that BLACK SKY concerns soldiers in a post-apocalyptic future battling some kind of monstrous space squid. Yes, I’m for real; in fact, at Comic-Con they were pushing the movie as “a dark war-movie-style adventure described as Band of Brothers vs Cthulhu”. I’m sure we can all get on board with that.

BLACK SKY will debut in early 2011 as both the illustrated film and as a comic book. Give the teaser a peek and weigh in below.
