THE RING and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN helmer Gore Verbinski is delving into the television game with “Magical Law”, a crime procedural that deals with paranormal cases.

According to Deadline.com, it is set in a world where the existence of supernatural beings is commonplace and follows the specialized cops and lawyers who face the unique challenges of prosecuting otherworldly crimes.

So basically, it’s “Law & Order” with ghosts and goblins. I guess I can get behind that, but it seems to me that supernatural shows very rarely last on TV. Then you consider that Fox is always quick to pull the plug on series that don’t work right off the bat, and “Magical Law” already has an uphill battle to face… Perhaps it will attract an interesting cast, in which case I’ll become more optimistic.

one of Verbinski’s PIRATES scribes, Terry Rossio, is writing the project; both will executive produce.
