In a brief, revealing interview with the New York Times, Francis Ford Coppola dished out a few vague details about his already-shooting horror film TWIXT NOW AND SUNRISE, which we only found out about a few weeks ago. According to the legendary director, the idea “grew out of dream I had last year – more of a nightmare” and it “seemed to have the imagery of Hawthorne or Poe.” Hard not to like the way that sounds…
In addition to those tantalizing tidbits, Coppola also popped off the names of a few new castmembers (in addition to Val Kilmer, whom we already knew was involved): Elle Fanning (who will apparently be playing a ghost), Kilmer’s ex-wife Joanne Whalley (pictured below), Bruce Dern (pictured right), Ben Chaplin, Don Novello, David Paymer and Alden Erenreich are all appearing in SUNRISE, which Coppola also describes as a “gothic romance”.
Shooting on the $7 million film is taking place in Napa County and Lake County, California; while there’s no distributor yet, Coppola remarked to the Times that its “gothic romance/horror subject matter may make it good for this time next year.”
Maybe twixt October 1 and Halloween next year, we’ll be seeing TWIXT NOW AND SUNRISE… To read the full interview, head on over HERE.
