Back in July, Ammon relayed a missive about a new TWILIGHT ZONE movie headed our way…spearheaded by Warner Bros. and Leo DiCaprio’s Appian Way production wing. Now, three months later to the day, we know who’ll write the newest cinematic adaption of the classic 50s TV series. The scribe’s name? Why, one Jason Rothenberg!

Per Deadline, the plan is to adapt at least a few episodes from the series, ones originally conceived by Rod Serling and Richard Matheson. Further details about the feature are unknown at this point.

Rothenberg, who has COLOSSUS: THE FORBIDDEN PROJECT set up at Universal (with Will Smith and Ron Howard attached), is hardly a household name. He has the TV movie BODY POLITIC under his belt, with THE SPARROW currently in development. Hopefully DiCaprio and his crew know more than we do!

Honestly though, you think there’s still a major market for a TWILIGHT ZONE movie? We all know of the fatal mishaps that occurred on John Landis’ segment…you think another film version will resurrect painful memories?
