Back in May, Ammon brought to light a feisty-looking German zombie flick called RAMMBOCK; at the time the film was gearing up for its Cannes Film Festival premiere, in the hopes that it would land distribution worldwide. Now, here we are in October, and word has finally come in that the thriller has hit the jackpot.
According to Screen Daily, sales to distributors in the US, Japan, Poland and Romania are among the deals signed by the Vienna-based EastWest Filmdistribution for Marven Kren’s zombie film. No dates have been assigned yet, but this is great news, as RAMMBOC (which seems like it’s in the mold of 28 DAYS LATER and [REC]) appears to be a zombie movie you can take to the bank. (Do I say The BLOOD bank? No…)
Just when Michael arrives in Berlin to visit his ex-girlfriend Gabi, a terrible virus starts spreading across the city at a rapid pace, turning people into mindless homicidal maniacs. Much to Michael’s concern, Gabi’s not home; instead, he meets Harper, a teenage plumber’s apprentice at work in her apartment block. Together, they manage to barricade themselves when raging hordes of infected people swarm the building. Surrounded by these thirsty zombies, Michael and Harper have their hands full to survive – and it will take all of their ingenuity to make their way out to try and find Gabi.
