First still from Kevin Smith’s Red State is heavy on the hair

Here’s you first look – albeit at the back of a head – at Kevin Smith’s RED STATE, which we’ve been writing about since the beginning of creation. (Can’t believe my eyes – it’s actually shooting!) At this time, it appears as though we’re looking at Michael Parks’ crazed preacher, Abin Cooper, and his sparse congregation. Hopefully next time he’ll advertise, send out an email or two.

The horror flick, about a group of kids who have the bad luck to bump up against the evangelical Abin – with deadly results – is currently shooting in Los Angeles; in addition to Parks, RED STATE stars Kyle Gallner, Melissa Leo, Michael Angarano, Stephen Root, John Goodman and Kevin Pollak.
