After all the footage we’ve seen and good word of mouth we’ve heard, is there anyone still skeptical of Matt Reeves’ LET ME IN?

Seriously, upon announcement, there seemed to be far more haters than supporters of anyone remaking such fine original, not to mention so soon, but when the director of populist outing CLOVERFIELD became attached, the red flags seemed to hoist even higher. Now, even the most ardent LET THE RIGHT ONE IN fans seem to be onboard with its American redo (The Arrow even prefers it to the original). A direct result of the Reeves’ ability to stay faithful to the source material, no?!?

Anyway, in the lead up to its release this Friday, Apple has unleashed a new featurette for the film. It crosses footage from the flick with interviews of director Matt Reeves, who offers insight about the story’s basic setup. You’ll also hear from the films two young leads, Chloe Moretz and Kodi Smit-McPhee, as they recall (or don’t recall in Chloe’s case) some of the on-set happenings. Take a look below!

In theaters this Friday (Oct. 1):

Twelve-year old Owen is viciously bullied by his classmates and neglected by his divorcing parents. Achingly lonely, Owen spends his days plotting revenge on his middle school tormentors and his evenings spying on the other inhabitants of his apartment complex. His only friend is his new neighbor Abby, an eerily self-possessed young girl who lives next door with her silent father. A frail, troubled child about Owens’s age, Abby emerges from her heavily curtained apartment only at night and always barefoot, seemingly immune to the bitter winter elements. Recognizing a fellow outcast, Owen opens up to her and before long, the two have formed a unique bond.

When a string of grisly murders puts the town on high alert, Abby’s father disappears, and the terrified girl is left to fend for herself. Still, she repeatedly rebuffs Owen’s efforts to help her and her increasingly bizarre behavior leads the imaginative Owen to suspect she’s hiding an unthinkable secret.
