Not quite AITH material, but anyone a fan of SLC PUNK?

If you are, perhaps a new flick its director James Merendino (seen right) has in the works is something you might be interested in. You see, according to Variety, Merendino is off to VAMPIRE SUMMER CAMP, a horror comedy that centers on a musical-theater competition between two summer camps, one of which is a camp for youthful-looking vampires. Frightening Entertainment will produce along with Rose Ganguzza.

Merendino, who wrote this script with Jenny Jaffe, has directed five films since SLC, has slowly gravitated toward darker genre fare over the years (DEATH CLUB, THE INVISIBLE LIFE OF THOMAS LYNCH, etc). Looks like VAMPIRE SUMMER CAMP will bring a little levity back into the man’s life. Hopefully ours as well.

So what do you all think? This sound like a decent premise, or are you not really buyin’ it? Which musicians/composers would you like to see attached for the whole musical-theater aspect of the story?

Principal photography on VAMPIRE SUMMER CAMP commences November 1st.
