A few weeks ago came the news that the apparently very freaky, traumatizing RED WHITE & BLUE had gotten picked up by IFC Midnight for distribution in North America. Thankfully, it hasn’t taken them long to release their own trailer for the flick, which is rather spoiler-heavy, so watch at your own risk… It’s not too bloody, but it’s still pretty messed-up business, so I’d say it’s borderline NSFW.
In addition, Fantastic Fest – which will screen the film this Saturday, the 25th – has released a poster made exclusively for the festival by the artist Sawdust. Peep that thing below the new trailer.
The film will be shown in movie theatres across North America beginning SEPTEMBER 23rd. Among the cities that will get RED WHITE & BLUE are Austin (Texas), Houston, New York, LA and Philadelphia. At the same time, in a deal brokered by distributor IFC Films in partnership with FantasticFest, it will also be available in over 40 million homes via Video OnDemand on the same day it receives its screening at Fantastic Fest.
In Red White & Blue, Erica is a tough, troubled nymphomaniac with wound across her soul. For Erica, sleeping with multiple men forms the core of her life, until she meets the mysterious Iraq vet Nate. Despite his air of danger, Nate’s the only guy who doesn’t immediately want to sleep with her, and the two form a hesitant bond. But in a shocking twist, one of Erica’s earlier sexual encounters with wannabe rock star Franki will have unexpected – and devastating – consequences on both of their lives.
