Set to debut at this year’s Toronto International Film Fest is Adam Wingard’s indie horror flick A HORRIBLE WAY TO DIE, for which we just a attained a trailer (via Heat Vision). In an ostensible twist of fate, we’ve also snared what looks to be a promo one-sheet for the festival, as well as a half-dozen stills from the film. From a script by Simon Barrett – the flick centers on an escaped murderer is in pursuit of his ex-girlfriend, who has fled to start a new life in a small town.
AJ Bowen, Joe Swanberg, Amy Seimetz, Brandon Carroll and Lane Hughes makeup the minimal cast.
Although the cryptic logline and small cast doesn’t immediately suggest greatness, the trailer itself is actually pretty harrowing. Definitely something worth keeping an eye on!
After screening at TIFF next month, A HORRIBLE WAY TO DIE will seek a distribution deal to get the film out to the masses by next year.
