Conan will have supernatural elements, says co-star Stephen Lang

I’m rather looking forward to the new CONAN flick starring Jason Momoa. Not that I have a ton of faith in it (it is directed by Marcus Nispel, after all), but I’m just curious how something like that’s going to play for today’s audiences. Is it possible to make a flick like that legitimately cool, and not have it resemble KULL THE CONQUERER or THE SCORPION KING?

One reason to have faith is the cast, which includes AVATAR baddie Stephen Lang as villainous Khalar Singh. Lang spoke with MTV recently about the supernatural element of the flick.. as in, will there be any?

“If you read Robert Howard — of course the ‘Conan’ stories and novellas — magic, supernatural plays a huge, huge part in them: fakirs and magicians and wizards all over the place. So magic is part of that world. The magic in this film, there’s a lot of it and there’s a lot of action-magic as well, a lot of magical fighting.”

In case you’re worried that Lang will fight like a faerie, he assures us, “My fighting is not magical,” he said. “My fighting is just brutal.”

Also, check out the pics I nabbed from ConanMovieBlog, which depicts Conan fighting some sort of creature that looks like the bastard son of Powder. Dude is certainly not of this earth…
