Back in February, young Jared Pacheco told y’all about a film being prepped called THE MOURNING PORTRAIT, which centered around those creepy post-mortem photos folks used to take way back in the day. Today, we received a press release informing us that the film is finally ready to move forward, with a pretty impressive cast in tow!

Wentworth Miller (RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE), Dermot Mulroney (ZODIAC), Melissa Leo (FROZEN RIVER) and Diane Ladd (WILD AT HEART) are all aboard the creepy tale, which will begin filming later this year with Paul Schattel at the helm.

Built around the practice of post-mortem photography in 1920s Appalachia, it is the story of a newly widowed bootlegger named Miller (Dermot Mulroney) who enlists the services of a traveling mourning portrait photographer (Wentworth Miller). Grief turns to terror when the mysterious visitor unveils his unearthly powers and Miller’s daughter disappears.
