So we just happened upon a spiffy little psychological thriller starring Daryl Hannah and Tom Conti, directed by 45 year vet Raoul Ruiz. The joint’s called A CLOSED BOOK, ironic since we’re sullying its namesake by giving you a wide open look at this sumbitch. Not only do we have a fully loaded synopsis and a look at the poster, we’ve got the first trailer for the movie as well. Scroll it already…

Written by Gilbert Adair (THE TERRITORY, THE DREAMERS) – A CLOSED BOOK gears up when:

Novelist Sir Paul hires a beautiful assistant to help him with his writing after he has been blinded in a horrific accident. Intelligent, attractive and unfazed by her employers bad temperament, Jane seems to be the perfect assistant. But soon it becomes clear that Jane has her own agenda. Altering Sir Paul’s daily life to gain control, Jane’s sadistic games escalate with deadly intentions.

Miriam Margolyes, Simon MacCorkindale, Elaine Paige, Matt Kaufaman, William Ellis, Craig Painting, Brogan West, Adam Ewan, Matthew Early and Ty Glaser also take part.

A CLOSED BOOK has been available on DVD in the U.K. only since February, but we’re still awaiting a release elsewhere around the globe. If you happen to own a Region 2 DVD player, feel free to ORDER A CLOSED BOOK RIGHT HERE.
