Three actresses get sent to Detention with Dane Cook

Just a few days ago I reported on a horrible-sounding project called DETENTION, starring Josh Hutcherson and Dane Cook. I thought maybe it was just some sort of terrible nightmare I had thanks to eating Mexican food at 1 a.m., but no, it’s all too real. I know this because the thing is adding to its cast.

The Hollywood Reporter brings the news that Shanley Caswell and Spencer Locke have joined the horror-comedy, which is being helmed by music video director and TORQUE auteur Joseph Kahn. Also, thanks to Kahn’s Twitter page (probably the only time I’ll thank Joseph Kahn’s Twitter page), I learned that Carrie Wiita has also hopped aboard this wacky train.

Don’t feel bad if you’ve never heard of any of these girls, because I haven’t either – however, Spencer Locke (pictured right) is in the last two RESIDENT EVIL flicks, so I guess I’ve actually seen her. Caswell and Wiita (pictured below) are actresses with credits mostly relegated to TV.

DETENTION centers on teens who must survive their final year of high school, but standing in their way is a slasher-movie killer who has seemingly come to life. Shooting on the $10 million pic begins this month in Los Angeles.
