Dario Argento’s Giallo finally coming to DVD in the US

Dario Argento’s GIALLO has been awaiting release here in the states for years. It’s most likely been due to the dreadful way The Weinstein Company handles everything they touch, but there certainly could be another reason for the delay: The movie sucks. I mean, it’s godawful. Hilariously bad. Utter garbage… Do I need to spell it out any further?

GIALLO, for those of you still interested, is finally being plopped onto the scene in October; Amazon lists the flick’s release date as being OCTOBER 19th, just in time for Halloween… There isn’t anything remotely scary about the flick, but hey, maybe you’ll need to take a break and watch a good comedy one night. Lord knows this movie provides plenty of opportunities for you to point and laugh at it…

No special features have been listed yet, although I would really love some behind-the-scenes stuff, especially when it comes to Adrien Brody. The actor, who is usually all right in my book, is terrible in not one but two roles. It would be sort of fascinating to learn just what the actor was going for here, or if it was just a case of being directed by a man who has never made performance a priority. (For that matter, I’d love to know why Brody plays two roles. There’s certainly no reason given in the world the film takes place in.)

In any event, you may pre-order GIALLO right HERE… If you dare!
