One-time-boy-band-member-turned-quasi-respectable-thespian Justin Timberlake (or T-Lake, as I call him) may soon be padding his resume!

According to a missive entrenched in a Deadline story (one about Timberlake and Elton John’s “American Idol” involvement), it seems Timberlake has been offered the lead role in Andrew Niccol’s new futuristic yarn I’M.MORTAL. Fancy that!

The story doesn’t mention much else, namely whether or not T-Lake will accept the offer. It does however iterate how booming the pop star’s acting career has become, currently having no less than 5 films in various stages of production (including David Fincher’s THE SOCIAL NETWORK).

As we mentioned earlier this month, Amanda Seyfried (below) has also signed onto Niccol’s I’M MORTAL – which will be set in the not-too-distant future, where the aging gene has been switched off. To avoid overpopulation, time has become the currency and the way people pay for luxuries and necessities. The rich can live forever, while the rest try to negotiate for their immortality.

The protagonist is a poor young man who comes into a fortune of time, though too late to help his mother from dying. He ends up on the run from a corrupt police force known as “time keepers.”

His involvement aside, only question that remains: Will J-to-the-T be giving Seyfried a “dick in a box” on set?
