It’s Lena Headey vs. hellish monsters in Safe House

One of my favorite lady badasses working right now is Lena Headey. The former “Sarah Connor Chronicles” star just exudes a mix of intensity and sensuality, like she could either kiss you or break your face in. She certainly brought that to 300, and she’ll probably bring that to SAFE HOUSE, a horror flick she just signed on for, according to Deadline.com.

SAFE HOUSE follows a mother and daughter barricaded inside a witness-protection hideout who come under siege from hellish monsters. The problem is that these entities can walk through walls before solidifying back into raging creatures…

Sounds like they’re pretty well screwed. But I’m sure Lena can tackle the problem… She’s got a couple of cool co-stars in the form of Michael Ironside, Kate Mara, and Michael Trucco (“Battlestar Gallactia”).

Andy Briggs, who wrote AQUAMAN for Warner Bros, penned the screenplay. Simon Hunter, who helmed the woeful MUTANT CHRONICLES, will sit in the director’s chair when the film commences shooting in March 2011. Image Engine, the Canadian VFX shop which created the aliens in DISTRICT 9, is in talks to do the monster design.
