Last month, the release date for the Guillermo del Toro-produced remake of DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK was revealed as being JANUARY 21, 2011. Now, with Comic-Con upon us (I have a feeling I’m going to type that a lot this week), more is slowly but surely being unveiled: we’ve got a high-resolution look at Katie Holmes (click it for a bigger version), wearing an expression of fear that I can only imagine matches the one on her face when she first entered Tom Cruise’s lair. Plus, the boys over at CHUD have debuted a teaser poster, which they’ll apparently be giving away at the Con. Peep that sucker below.

In addition, official site has opened, although there’s not much to see there at the moment. The flick will have a panel at Comic-Con, so expect some footage reports after it screens – hopefully a trailer isn’t far down the road.

A young girl discovers a hoard of monsters living underneath her father and stepmother’s house in this remake of the spooky 1973 made-for-TV production. Guillermo del Toro and Matthew Robbins adapt the screenplay, with directing duties handled by comic artist Troy Nixey.
