Virginia Madsen joins Red Riding Hood cast as Amanda Seyfried’s mother

Now here’s perfect casting if I’ve ever seen it. Variety reports that Virginia Madsen has signed on to play the mother of Amanda Seyfried’s character in Warner Bros.’ medieval thriller RED RIDING HOOD. Gotta be one of the more believable (not to mention hot) mother-daughter duos in years, no?

The film, being directed by Catherine Hardwicke, centers on a village being terrorized by a werewolf; Seyfried will play the titular character, who joins forces with a werewolf hunter to stop the menace.
