Two Mad Max movies being shot back-to-back?!

Take this rumor with a grain of salt, as we’ve not heard a peep about it before: Twitch.net is reporting that George Miller (pictured) is working on two new MAD MAX movies, which will be shot back to back and even released one after another… Now that’s a lot of burnt rubber.

The first one, as we already know, will be called FURY ROAD. The second will supposedly go with the name FURIOSA, which is just awful sounding; if this news is true, let’s pray they come up with something a little better than that… How about FURY ROAD WARRIOR? (You know it’s awesome.) Nothing else is given up in the Twitch article, however, only that succinct update.

Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Zoe Kravitz have also been cast in FURY ROAD; the film doesn’t have a release date, or a known production schedule, although Hardy recently implied that shooting would commence nine months from now. That said, Miller is currently working on HAPPY FEET 2, which doesn’t come out until November 2011 – obviously a lot of work remaining for him on that front.

So what do we make of this? Do we believe it? If so, are you down?
