Scream 4 loses another actress! Bye bye Lauren Graham!

So this is pretty weird. Is SCREAM 4 cursed, or just conflicting with everyone’s schedule? Whatever the case, it would seem that another actress is vacating the premises; last week it was Lake Bell, this time it’s Lauren Graham.

Graham, who was set to play Emma Roberts’ mother in the sequel, has departed the production due to date conflicts and script changes. The site Ghouls on Film, which has had reliable info regarding the Wes Craven thriller before, broke the story. Both excuses in this case raise red flags, and combined they signal something rather odd going on in the town of Hillsboro. (Or rather, Ann Arbour, MI). I simply don’t buy that two separate actresses have had two separate scheduling issues this severe. “Script changes”, on the other hand, wouldn’t be a surprise at all. Is this thing getting heavily rewritten on the spot?

It remains to be seen whether or not the role will be recast or if it’s been rewritten in a major way. Graham is, while not A-list famous, a notable actress, which gives me the idea that the mother character is a somewhat substantial one. Perhaps it once was, and isn’t anymore…
